Contemporary home by Klaarchitectuur architecture
An irregular shape for an unusual contemporary home, the parallelogram provides this modern structure with interesting nooks and openings, and irregular windows to illuminate its spacious interiors. Designed by architecture firm Klaarchitectuur, the modern rural House Kempeneers in Belgium boasts a grey-brick exterior that’s interesting, to say the least. The contemporary style home’s modern, jagged profile and fascinating openings lure you in. The 350m2 ground floor and 120m2 second floor are small, but sweet. Minimalist interiors are sleek and stylish, leaving your attention to the floor-to-ceiling windows and the green, pastoral views. A cool, “floating” staircase leads up to the second level, where a large outdoor terrace provides panoramic views of the whole neighborhood.
Lake House Architecture by Saunders Architecture
This Lake House Architecture is design by Saunders Architecture. With architect Todd Saunders of Saunders Architecture at the helm, this modern, boat-inspired vacation home boasts just the right blend of rustic charm and contemporary influences. With a wood roof that wraps around to form the rear wall and the floor, this compact cottage retreat is like a warm embrace, welcoming residents and their lucky guests to relax and take in the amazing lake view via the fully glazed front facade. A large deck stretches out across the front of the lake house, which is nestled peacefully between forest and the waterfront. The interior of this wood cabin design is minimalist, pared right down to the base essentials. This unique house design was somewhat of an experimental venture for this young, Norway-based architecture firm. “The main dilemma for emerging architects is finding clients willing to take a chance with young, enthusiastic architects that have limited experience,” according to Saunders Architecture. “When we first started our firm, instead of looking for clients we went looking for plots, to build an experimental structure. In doing this, we could pursue our architectural vision in line with our convictions: uncompromising, original and respect for the landscape.”
Contemporary Villa Design by Saunders Architecture
This contemporary villa design by Norway architects Todd Saunders and Thomas Pfeffer of Saunders Architecture is futuristic, fashion-forward and functional, all in one fell swoop. The sleek contemporary villa in Hjellestad, Norway blends traditional Nordic architecture with an innovative edge in what has become a local landmark of modern architecture. The contemporary, white facade is sculptural and dotted with lots of windows which flood interiors with natural light. The structure takes shape in three main volumes, stacked asymmetrically to form architecturally interesting interiors and equally exceptional outdoor living areas designed to withstand the oft-harsh northern climate. Interiors reflect the same modernist sentiment of the exterior, with an open-concept main floor hosting the family room, three children’s bedrooms and a play room, an amazing kitchen, the den and the master bedroom, all surrounded by an exterior terrace and stairway leading to the garden below.[via]
